Hermes - damaged on transit claims
Hi, please I use the hermes marketplace on Amazon, and the status of an order says ´damaged on transit´ the customer says he didn’t receive and has asked for refund. I have checked the tracking and it says can´t be delivered, has anyone experienced this as i don´t know where to make a claim and i didn’t receive the parcel back.

Refund the customer in full then prepare for a battle with Hermes and Amazon, as each will tell you to claim your loss from the other

From my own experience Hermes will only pay out if you buy from them direct. Amazon’s response was pretty much that you can’t claim and this is how they get reduced shipping costs from Hermes. Just refund and move on.

I only buy direct, and have to say out of all the horror stories about Hermes I was posting over 100 parcels a year with them (not a huge amount I know, but enough over 7/8 years to form an opinion) I only had to claim from them twice, and both times they paid out very quickly with no hassle, once they even went on to deliver the item about a month later and told me to keep the payout.
Its the whole Amazon thing that muddies the water - Hermes will, as expected, only pay out to their customer - which is Amazon, you wouldn’t offer a refund to someone who had purchased goods from someone who had purchased goods from you would you? so why should Hermes…
The problem is that Amazon should at least claim from Hermes and then refund you, but they won’t put the time and effort into it - so basically you take a gamble buying from them
