Video Games Suspected Intellectual Property Violations
Here we go again
Two old(ish) games and i’ve been hit with warnings
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Xbox 360)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
What is it with amazon. They probably created the listing for these games in the first place and also sold on this listing. I cannot provide invoices or a letter from the manufacturer as the games are 2nd hand and are no longer made.
Last time this happened the warnings did eventually disappear but its just ridiculous!

I believe if they are only suspected, they will be removed once you delete them from your inventory

Super Mario 3D World (Nintendo Wii U)
Minecraft (Xbox One)
Pokepark 2: Wonders Beyond (Wii)

New Super Mario Bros Game DS

This has been happening on and off for the last couple of years.
The algo has now gone completely insane removing even fairly recent videogames. I got 40 “Your Amazon seller listings have been deactivated” mails only in the last 24 hours.
My account is now at risk.
It’s worth noting that this is only happening in the UK, all those removed listing are still online on the US Amazon on any European marketplace etc.
I’ve sent a mail to jeff@amazon.com to explain the issue (for whatever it’s worth).
Seller support hasn’t really been helpful in the last couple of years in regard to this issue.

Had over 700 listings removed in the past 2 years dealing with this, spoke to trading standards, my local MP and various other government bodies.
Essentially Amazon wants you to provide ‘‘EC deceleration of conformity documents’’ to prove that the products meet standards to be sold in the UK/EU. The problem is that only wholesalers and importers legally needs these documents, not sellers. Yet Amazon is requiring all sellers to have these documents, when there is no need.
There is nothing you can do but delete the listings and remake them, then wait for them to be removed again in a year or two.

Amazon are removing a massive amount of listings with brands or trademarks in them from third party sellers, the only way to reactivate them is by removing the brand name or trademark and this cannot be done as usually the listing was not created by the seller, therefore the seller has no means of editing the listing. Even with proof and invoices and images and license agreements, Amazon will still not accept them and will only accept an edit of the listing that cannot be done.
Millions of listings have been removed from the catalogue for ‘suspected’ intellectual property violations by Amazon and they cannot be amended.
Deleting them does nothing as they will not be removed from the account health page for 180 days, every third party sellers account, who sells legitimate branded or trademarked products has the yellow box and their account is at risk of deactivation as they cannot get the violations removed by any action available to them.
The fact that all large brands and trademarks have their own intellectual property agents who monitor and police Amazon, seems to be lost on Amazon and Amazon are taking action where the actual companies who’s job it is to do that, have no issue with the listings, as they can verify them as legitimate, or can ask the seller to prove it, I assume that it is a computer that is just trawling for any brand or trademark and flagging it as a suspected intellectual property issue and then giving the seller no option to appeal it other than edit it or remove it.
You cannot even appeal it, or present evidence, the only option is to remove the brand or trademark and submit it for evaluation, but unless you created the listing in the first place, you can’t do that, Catch 22.
This is a serious issue for sellers and you can see from the response here that it is emotive and the reason for that is that it is simply unfair and also costing Amazon millions in lost revenue as legitimate branded licensed items can no longer be sold.
If there is an answer to this I would be very happy to hear it.

Yet more this morning
Now includes the term “Xbox” …. Boy that’s going to take out a lot of legitimate listings!

It seems most have been reversed this morning. Pokemon and Mario games have been reinstated but not ASINs that were removed under the “Xbox” violation
