Privalidged Returns
I have noticed a significant increase of returns under the guide of No longer needed or Changed mind where by Amazon auto authorise and refund the buyer as soon as its scanned by Royal Mail, however when the items come back the item have been opened or damaged and are then unsaleable, There is no action open to us to cancel the refund or get it reversed. Can we stop getting refunds issued prior to the return arriving back with us the seller when the reason for the return is anything other than faulty.

You can open a safe t claim if it comes back in a different condition, but you can’t stop Amazon issuing the refunds, that is their policy now.
You can exempt items if they are worth over £100
To make a Safe T claim you will need a photo of the envelope etc, so you can probably only claim for your most recent one, but you will know for the future

In our experience if you are getting too many returns where its no longer needed or change of mind its its a possiblity you are being targeted by a competitor. All Amazon need to do is check the identical product that sold on the platfform and compare the returns on the competing product. If one product has more returns then the other possibility. We had the same issue and discovered all the returns were being instigated by a competitor.
