Price Gouging Rules
I’m looking to order some infrared thermometers but I am worried I’ll be court out and accused of price gouging. I mainly sell private label products and the retail price of a private label product is generally 2-3 times the price of the product cost from the factory. If I stick to this rule with coronavirus related products would I be in breach of price gouging rules? I certainly understand that the price I would have to sell them for is multiple times that of ordinary retail prices in normal times, but I’m not sure what I can be expected to do when the product cost from the factory has increased by about 8x.

Maybe it’s just safer to avoid whilst the current situation is happening?
We all know that prices go up, but if the price significantly higher than previously, or other similar items, your going to get hit.

I do not think you would be allowed to list new products for these anyway. Amazon have stopped listings with thermometer or InfraRed in the title for most sellers - even sellers having active listings for years.
They are basically shutting down any private sellers on these besides themselves. If you really want to be selling these now, you will be better off on eBay or elsewhere because Amazon will just pause your listing anyway.
