Order in pending for 6dys now

Hi, we have an order in pending and it has been there for 6 days now. The thing is it is holding the last two items of stock, which sell fast and we want them back as available to sell if this person isn’t buying them.

Is there a time limit it can be in pending for, or is there a way to get the order released?

Sounds deliberate, raise a case and ask SS to look into it as well as put back into stock.
“Pending” issues tend to be fixed quickly (maximum 20 days) although on rare occasions can go past that.

Just tried that and as usual they were hopeless. Just sent me a link to explaining pending orders! I know what they are !!

This question has come up on the forum quite a lot. Its like leaving the shopping trolley in the grocery store having forget to take your purse or wallet with you

Pending orders for any length of time happen a lot.
If it’s FBM and you think it’s not going to go through, then you can simply amend your inventory and add the two back in. But if it goes through, and you no longer have the stock, you will have a problem.
If it’s FBA, then you can do nothing at all, other than wait.
Pending orders take as long as they do.

However, you did state that this is a fast selling line, so just having two pending seems to be a minor problem to me. Surely you have other stock?

Pending orders are probably one of the most annoying features of amazon. Once they are pending over a day, most orders are cancelled or get to the alloted time period before they lapse. Would be much better to give the seller more control and be able to cancel pending orders manually after 24 hours if they wished to do so. Most pending orders seem to happen when you are having a bit of down time or going away!

I have an order that’s been pending for 3 weeks, I’ve put items back into inventory as if paid for (I doubt it will be) I will dispatch if I have stock, if not will cancel the order

I had a pending order for over a week. Contacted seller support and it was gone out the door within 24hrs. they told me the reason can be:

For your reference, here are some of the most common reasons for orders being in Pending status:

• Amazon has been unable to obtain authorisation for the buyer’s credit card.

• For an FBA order, the buyer has qualified for free shipping and the order is waiting for all of the order items to be gathered.

• For an FBA order if the order is for multiple items but one item is out of stock. Even if Amazon chooses to split the order and send the in-stock FBA Unit(s), the order will still show Pending status.

Currently we have 27 pending orders that are between 1 day and 13 days old, we do find competitors use this as a tool to hold our stock as some of them have very high unit counts, however as we have daily deliveries from our suppliers we re-list the stock, knownig that even if one of these did go through, we can still deliver on time. It is suprising some times how long they site there, and then go through. We had one a couple of weeks ago that was placed on Next-Day delivery, then sat in pending for 14 days, customer still checked out and still paid the Nex-Day delivery charge.

Well, it is a business customer that has placed this pending order :open_mouth:

A case has been opened with CS, but obviously don’t hold out much hope. Still have a couple of cases open with them about postal issues etc since beginning of August :joy:
