Are you using the barcodes on the items to list ?

This is a common response from Amazon particularly relating to books. A book may have a perfectly valid ISBN but if it’s not in the Amazon database they will send out this reply. It seems to be especially prevalent for English language books published in European countries such as Netherlands Eastern Europe, Scandinavia etc. The Amazon catalogue has grown ad hoc. Indeed, ten or more years ago, sellers could create their own records which resulted in a complete mess of duplicate entries. Amazon stopped this and applied a great deal more rigour but the downside is this message. It almost certainly means Amazon still don’t populate their catalogue with recognised data-feeds from all available international sources. Their cross-pollination between Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk is also still weak. You can often find the record in .com but not .co.uk. Sometimes you can move it across and use it in .co.uk - but often not. Good luck!

Hello @Seller_jnc0MRT5VzTix.

Have you opened a case with Seller Support? If so, can you share the case ID with me?

Regards, Spencer

we had the same problem for months and gave up

then someone suggested buying gs1 barcodes and list the item as your own brand (as long as its not a branded item)

I've basically given up adding new products. It's too time consuming. Thankfully Amazon is not our primary selling platform.
