Misled and robbed
I received several emails as a new seller telling me to take advantage of 250 GBP in free advertising credit. So I activated the promo and followed the instructions only to be charged 160 GBP this month for advertising. The real kicker is none of the advertising converted to any sales. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything that can be done to reverse the charge and ensure the credit is honoured?

There are usually quite specific T&Cs surrounding these offers, they are not straight "here is £250 credit, spend it on whatever advertising you want".
Did you meet them?

As above reply, Amazon do tend to have it all stitched up to their advantage. If the advertising has had no results then try and cancel - not sure if that is possible as have never done it.

its normal a case of something like activate advertising and when you spent £x you will get a credit to use
helps to read the specifics

it says in the email it takes a few weeks after starting a campain before the £250 credit is applied to your account .
what you should have done is start the campain and then pause it until you got the free credit to use .

i would say they probably say you get this amount free as long as you spend x which may be a certain amount in a month or a stated amount such as £500.. ive looked before and when i read that part i just didnt bother.
i have advertised here and there all the time in the last 14 years. now i hardly do it.
While we generally got more sales , once the costs were charged there was not lots of difference. We also dont know who would have bought anyway if not advertised. The only winners are amazon as they get more sales and advertising fees..
We now stopped falling for it and now invest that money in website seo as amazon is a sinking ship. Sinking because its over saturated with idiot business that list at stupid low prices and traffic is not as large as it was.

Welcome to Amazon. Amazon very good at telling you how fantastic their latest scheme is for them to make more money. It id buyer beware, they will never warn you of any potential issues or possible downsides, that is your problem. They don't tell you that it will probably not work correctly and cost you lots of time and money. You have no chance of getting them to refund you. They have made an extra £160 profit, multiply that bay a few thousand accounts and it is a great little earner.

You have zero chance of getting a penny of that back. The offer as most people here have said is spend £X get £X credit. Word of advice regarding advertising you need to burn ad spend money to find profitable search terms. If you just go the automatic route Amazon will eat that up on irrelevant crap just to spend your budget. It's the same for Google ads too. Give them budget they WILL spend it.
