Today I received an email from compliance-verification@amazon.com
No notifications in my Amazon account, this is strange and suspicious, but my payments in Australia are indeed frozen and just recently I opened a case with the seller's support service because of this.
I'm afraid that this may be phishing and I'm afraid to follow the link. Tell me, please, who received emails from this address, is it safe?
Here is the text of the letter:

Amazon recently sent you an email requesting information to verify your account. Amazon needs to verify the identity of VLAD..... or your payments may remain on hold.
Acceptable types of identity documentation include official government issued documentation, such as a passport, driver’s license, permanent resident card, or a national identification card. Please note your document must include date of expiry if applicable, or it cannot be processed.
Click on the button at the bottom of this email to verify the information through a secure tool. Any information used for this verification will be securely stored and used for compliance purposes only.
