Successful Use Of Avalara
Just wondering if anyone has successfully obtained a German VAT certificate via Avalara?
We sent ours to them in August and it took them until September 9th to get it to Germany.
We were then blocked on October 2nd and Germany are still saying 6-8 weeks waiting.
My concern is that when they finally get round to processing our application, Avalara have cocked it up.

We applied for Italy, France and Germany.
Week ago we were succesfully registered for IT/FR, Germany still pending - so i believe its related to German tax office backlog and not Avalara.

I FINALLY received my German VAT Certificate through Avalara, but not after lengthy delays and confusion. Not sure who was to blame, but the only people that were helpful were the German Tax Authorities who said I didn’t need a VAT certificate. Sadly, the gatekeepers at Amazon felt otherwise and I was blocked from selling on Amazon Germany for six months. A ridiculous experience. I felt like Joseph K. in the Castle.

Sorry to give you some bad news but our application was sent to German tax authorities on May 30th and so far…nothing !
We called Avalara many times and they say they can’t do anything and we should just wait. Obviously, meanwhile we are blocked from selling on Amazon DE.

Ours came through on November 6th and we had our account back up and running on November 7th. Hopefully that will give some hope back to you …
