Countries
Read onlyI think I need to stop my items showing for sale in NI because of the new GPSR regs coming in. However I can't see a way to do this.
I sell on Handmade and don't have shipping profiles, my shipping charges are set by Amazon. I don't get to change them and I don't have a list of countries to tick/untick. Does this mean that I can't exclude NI? How can I be compliant for GPSR?
I take it from that you are on the individual selling plan.
If so that’s correct you can’t exclude Northern Ireland.
As such you are correct that you can’t 100% comply with GPSR as you can’t add the relevant data to the listings (manufacturers and responsible persons etc)
Unfortunately Amazon simply do not see that this is a requirement on Amazon UK.
Sorry there isn’t another answer.
I am, yes.
Thank you for the reply, I did think that might be the case. Another platform I sell on have the same view!
I expect they will both start to understand if and when they get in trouble for it!
I am surprised by Amazon though, I thought they would be more on the ball than this. Ebay have it set up, why is it so hard for other platforms to understand I wonder?
out of interest what is the other platform? You can name them.
EBay I have been impressed with their clarity, though I do know that sellers on the form there have grievances, though it’s more around specifics like what constitutes an antique etc.
Who knows if Amazon will get caught?!
Etsy is the other one who don't seem to understand the whole UK / GB / NI situation.
Hopefully Amazon will work it out and let us exclude NI. If not, all the AH UK sellers will have a problem. Even cancelling NI orders won't be enough I think? It's the offering for sale, not the actual selling, that's the problem.
well from your point of view all you could do is move to the pro selling plan and then remove NI.
Of course you shouldn’t have to. If you cancelled all NI orders it might impact your cancellation rate
I believe the pro selling plan would cost me £25 a month?
Seems a bit much when it should be Amazon's issue to solve, I'm not sure I want to pay that much - I'm not yet at a point where it's cost effective for me.
I think I'll just wait and see what happens.
I believe its always been the case that the Professional Selling Plan charge is waived for Handmade
Once you are approved to sell in Handmade and you have upgraded to a Professional Selling Plan, Amazon Handmade will waive the monthly Professional Selling Plan fee after the first month.
So it might cost you £30 for the first month. As with amazon terms are never 100% clear.
Likewise. Wait and see.
I imagine the burden of proof would be on you to prove that they were produced prior to the 13th.
