Shipping Setting Automation and Prime
I have seller fulfilled Prime and have just got a new contract with Royal Mail for tracked 24 and 48. SSA seems to be doing some wierd stuff in choosing which shipping to offer me. Sometimes I’ll get tracked 24 and others it will be greyed out saying we are not enrolled to use it. Our contract depends on us getting our DPD parcels over to RM Tracked but I’d say at least half our orders still only offer DPD. Royal Mail is in scope for weight and size and still we often can’t use it.
I thought the solution might be to switch off SSA so all shipping options will appear in the buy shipping box but it now appears that this new shipping template is not Prime eligible. Do I have to use SSA to have my orders Prime eligible? If so this means I am paying double the price and compromising our ability to reach our Royal Mail volume targets for Tracked 24/48

So here’s what I think having done some more work on this. Any input would be much appreciated. It seems there is no way of setting up a Prime shipping template without having Shipping Setting Automation activated. Amazon then use their carrier performance data to determine which shipping options should be offered when you buy shipping through Amazon. You have to use Amazon buy shipping to maintain metrics. Failure to do this means you lose Prime.
When you are offered the buy shipping box with the available options, you can also view *all options" in a drop down box below the valid available options. I’m looking at one now which offers me just DPD next day and in the “all options” drop down box it shows Royal Mail Tracked 24 greyed out with the reason, “Does not meet promised delivery date”. It’s Thursday today and the quoted delivery date for Tracked 24 is Saturday. Sometimes I do get offered Tracked 24, presumably when Amazon thinks delivery will happen within 24 hours. There seems no logic to how it decides this with sometimes local deliveries only available via DPD when I’m fairly sure Tracked 24 would deliver in time. In the main, Amazon seems to be saying that RM Tracked 24 is not a next day service and so won’t offer it to me for many of my Prime orders. It seems to usually assume the slowest delivery. I know Tracked 24 is not guaranteed next day but me previous experience with it has been good.
Anyone got any comments that might help? At the moment I’m paying double my Royal Mail contracted price to go DPD which doesn’t always arrive next day either.
