Any insight would be appreciated!
I set up a U.S. based seller's account and inadvertently used my wife's email address and log in credentials for her buyer's account during the process. I went through the verification process and the seller's account was activated. However, when I went into the seller's account and updated the email address to my business contact, her personal buyer's account was also updated to my business contact info. Any changes to the buyer account also transferred to the seller's account and vice versa. I contacted seller's support and was told that you should never create a seller's account using the same email address associated with a buyer's account as it will continually cause errors. He advised that I close the seller's account and open a new one using a new email address not associated with a buyer's account. He said that I would be able to use the same store name with the new seller's account.
I closed the seller's account under my wife's email address, started the process of opening a new seller's account under a new email address, but the same store name was not available (we can still log into seller's central under wife's email and see the original store name, but no longer see a US marketplace option listed). I was advised by a support agent to use a different store name for now and update it later as the original store name should be available later. Ok, I did so and continued the process. I used the same ID and account statement documents for verification that I used for the original seller's account. However, I received notice that "We are unable to verify the documents that you provided. As a result, you may not sell on Amazon. We cannot give you more information about this matter and we may not reply to further emails about this decision."
I have had numerous chats with seller support in the last week trying to untangle this mess, but no one is able to provide any assistance or clarity. I've just been told the decision is final and the request to open a seller account is denied. I assume that the original seller's account has not been completely deactivated and wiped out as we can still log into seller central with that email address (wife's) and perhaps that's why I've been rejected for the new account. Is it possible to have 2 seller accounts using the same person's data?
I'm stuck in a loop and no one at Amazon can clear this up or offer any assistance. Any thoughts or advice?
