Bad T Shirt Sales?
Hi,
Over the past week or 2 i have noticed a significant drop in sales and i’m not sure why, is it the time of year or what? I dont have huge amount of sales anyway but 2 days in the last 10 days i had 0 sales and i cant remember the last time i had a day 0 sales. My sales show im down 63% on last week and down 12% from last year. Haven’t had a sale today either. Very bizarre. I sell printed t shirts only nothing else.

I can’t comment on the T’Shirt market specifically but I think a lot of sellers are finding this month quite tough. I think the Queen passing along with kids going back to school / a lot of people still on holiday is definitely taking it’s toll on a lot of businesses. I work for a very large automotive aftermarket business, they have also seen a huge dip this month with a lot of excess seasonal stock (the majority of the deficit is being driven by the ecommerce sector of the business)… Keep plugging away, Q4 is upon us !

We sell a selection of essential items, and a selection of non-essential items. On the essential items, sales are up a little, but on non-essential they are down. My take on this is that people are feeling the pinch due to the cost of living crisis, and I suspect customers are holding off purchasing non-essentials in order to be able to pay for Christmas.
Sales should start picking up for Christmas any time now, we have already started selling some of our Christmas products this week.

Our sales are down on previous years, and they are down this month from last month but not by 63%, and we haven’t had any days without sales. We also sell a lot of our lines with FBA, but even just going by MFN, I don’t think we’ve had a day with fewer than 20 sales.
Over the last few days our Ebay has crashed through the floor, though. I used to think of £200 a day as a bare minimum that it would be crazy to fall below, with a reasonable expectation of having double that, but now we’ve had extended periods of rarely rising to or above £200, and this week have had several days under half of that.
Across board we’re probably down 20% overall on last year.
