Inventory Planning - Restock Inventory

I would appreciate some advice from other sellers.

Amazon’s Inventory Planning recommends quantities of products to restock and when. Sometimes these make good sense, but other times the quantities appear rather large or too small. Have you had experience with this and how much value should I place on their advice.

Thanks

Jack

You know your product better than the Amazon algorithms, personally I would go with what you think is correct, I sent a product in about 5 weeks ago and have sold 8 out of 12 stock I sent. I am replenishing this stock this weekend and its advising me to send in 83, they must know something I don’t know but sending in 24 not 83

I think they’re mostly nonsense, so I don’t take the slightest notice of them.

I think that you will find, that Amazon want you to send in a lot more than your willing to.
I use it as a guide only, but generally rely on what I know and aim for a months worth of inventory.

it just looks at the sales on last 4 weeks. But this usually only make sense if you had stock available for a full month… for example if you have sold 10 items in 2 days then ran out of stock, and didn’t get a stock in for the next 2-3 weeks. then it will say restock 15 or something where as it calculates the total sales on the last 4 weeks…

If you click on customise SKU settings from the drop down on the left you will often find that the system thinks you are on a very long lead time.

I change all the numbers at the bottom to one and then I find the figures that are generated are pretty good.

The time to replenish email that I get based on the replenishment reminders is unuseable as the info on it is so out of date.
