Account transfer please help
Hi Folks,
I am in a really bad situation. I need to transfer my account which is registered under my Irish company & VAT to a new UK company which is not VAT registered yet. However, in order to get VAT registered I need proof of business and therefore I guess by transferring the account to the new UK company I will then be able to register finally for VAT in the UK. My concern is, how long will the transferring take? I am the owner of both companies and have all documents to proof it.

Firstly, you do not need to be a UK company to be vat registered.
You need to explain exactly what it is that you are doing and why.
But frankly, it sounds like you need to speak to your accountant.

I see you have some questions in regards to VAT, @NEil is right, you don’t need to have a UK company to register for VAT in the UK.
