FBA instock rate ...DOES THIS EFFECT YOU?

I am having terrible trouble with my FBA instock rate (it’s part of the ipi) I have great selling stock right here in my warehouse and I cannot restock it!

It’s absolutely ridicules to be unable to stock items because I was unable to stock items (catch 22)

Does everybody else have this metric? Can anybody help? SS just keep linking me to ipi help page. I am getting very depressed and feel terribly helpless and angry. I am just trying to run a good business here.

I am having problems with this too.

I typically buy one off parcels of clearance stock so once they are sold I usually can not get any more.

I used to just leave the listing with zero stock in case I had any returns or found some stock somewhere. Then they made this active and I have had to go through a process of deleting them.

This does not seem to have helped a great deal.

If I click on the restock button that is along side the measurement it seems more concerned with me increasing my stocks on lines that are actually instock.

I got told by someone on here that changing the sku setting to say that the stock is not replenishable would help. I have changed quite a few but it does not seem to make much difference.

If there is a fast moving SKU that only has a handful of units left Amazon might suggest sending in 200 units. Does this affect my measurement? It shouldn’t do as I am instock.

Has anyone got any advice on how to help with this?

Then I am stuffed until it sells out.

Ok so at least I’m not the only one in this boat. but answers are not to be had?

I marked my entire inventory as ‘non replenishable’ the instock rate improved for a couple of days then dove off a cliff again. Leading me to believe there is something I cannot control hidden in the back ground.

I am actually perfectly fine with amazon prompting me to keep hot sellers in stock. But It just is not that simple. As want = get. In fact it’s rather naïve of amazon to act this way. there are a lot of factors in how we source our stock. Many are out of my control.

But the fact that I have the stock here ready to send and now cannot it just infuriating, enovating and
a confusing lack of logic

I am changing all the lead time and replenishment frequencies to 1 and it has had the effect of reducing the amount it says I need to send in. I am not sure if this will improve the situation.

I opened a case and they just said write to seller performance.

Just to update this, I’ve been told in the past by seller support (so take it with a pinch of salt) that no matter what changes you make to a SKU it will continue to affect your in-stock rate for 90 days after the last sale at which point it will stop affecting it IF you delete the SKU.

Good luck hitting the new 500 IPI target btw. We gave up… Even with all 4 metrics in the top 10% our overall score was only 380…

This is exactly the same issue we have.

The sell-through rate is almost impossible to maintain for long, since the only way to get it up is to sell 7x more units than your maximum stock figure in a given 90-day period, which means you have to replenish stock around once per week for each ASIN, keeping the item in-stock but in small quantities…
it’s easier when you sales are actually increasing quickly but practically impossible when sales are steady.
Right now ours is sat in the red at 1.0, which means we’re sending in the same number of items as we’re selling (go figure), the target is 7.0 or more…

The in-stock rate is easy to manage as long as you have recurring lines rather than clearance.

Our excess inventory metric is totally whack, a SKU which has sold 5-10 units per week for months is estimated to sell 0 next week, so the 20-ish units left in stock are all excess apparently…

It doesn’t help that of the 47 item which we need to restock (according to Amazon) 45 are food items which due to temperature restrictions May-October we can not replenish to FBA.

Our In-stock is at 45% !!!

I was going to ‘hide recommendations’ for some products on the Restock Inventory page but the only options on the drop-down list are ‘Customise Settings’ or ‘View Shipping Plan’. Is that the same for everyone at the moment?

Hi all,

I would like to add a little information to this thread.

How does my FBA in-stock rate affect my IPI?
Your in-stock rate indicates how much value you’re getting out of your products by staying in stock on replenishable ASINs. For example, if you go out of stock on a popular product, your lost sales represent a missed opportunity to increase your IPI. However, short-term delays in restocking your replenishable ASINs will not result in IPI points being deducted for running out of stock. Over the long term, if you don’t replenish a popular product, the remainder of your inventory has low sales, or if your inventory is unproductive, your IPI score will be affected.

Additional IPI FAQs are located here: IPI frequently asked questions

Thanks,
Jessica

Goal Posts changing everytime

Good News , My score went up this week by the biggest jump in weeks , it went up by 6 .

I thought we might make it to 400 by October

I gave up
we are seasonal retailers , who have 20 pallets of stock sitting waiting to go into Amazon and I can only send 2 or 3 boxes at a time .

Amazon are telling me to re-stock this item or that item , by large quantities , but can not ship

I also have a PRIME day promotion that I have been excepted for , but the stock required is not allowed to be sent
