Royal Mail late postage - where do we stand?

Hello, I am having orders arriving terribly late due to the Royal Mail strikes. They are either not arriving or being delayed by up to 10 days.

I am wondering do we have to accept returns and offer refunds? The way I see it we are doing our end of the deal, posting items out within the dispatch times, it is not our fault the RM deliver them late.

Whats the consensus?

Unfortunately you’ll need to refund and accept returns if they are late

Did you adjust your handling and shipping templates

An acceptable return reason is missed estimated delivery date - so yes

If its a refund request and you don’t have delivery verification, you are opening yourself up to an A to Z claim, which the customer can open.

As far as Amazon are concerned you offered a service to the customer and it’s up to you to uphold it. Harsh but that’s what we sign up for if we want to sell on their platform. Options are as said; increase handling time, go on holiday mode, or use a different courier.
