Product beig removed and taken down

Hi Everyone, Recently 3 products have been taken down, because they want the GS1 AND EANs for the product. Is anyone else having this issue, and know how to sort it.
Thanks.

Is it a branded product? Its possible amazon is expected there to be an EAN belonging to that brand.

Yes it is. Aren’t most products branded though,
Also I don’t understand what the EAN means, and how to solve this issue?

Is it your product, if so you should be using GS1 and the answer to you questions will be clear.
If its not your product are you selling someone’s else’s brand as New ?

Selling a Branded product that is not yours as new without permission from the brand owner !

ANYWAY…going back to the origin issue, not sure why Amazon are requesting this. You may need to share the exact message Amazon have sent you.

As this threat develops, the point above is valid but its not me that’s confused.

‘You DO need permission from a brand owner in 99% of cases to resell their products.’
As Peter mentions above if you are sourcing from The manufacturer, official distributor, you will almost certainly have permission, It will be down to the wholesaler and the deal they have with the manufacturers but its extremely unlikely.
Anything else is retail arbitrage, its against Amazons TOCs and they will eventually crack down on it.

It depends on why they are asking for asins. is it because the asin is not matching what is in the GS1 website? this has had a devastating effect in my catagory no one is able to list new products over the last 18 months well I should clarify no one can list authentic products but Ali baba sellers are buying codes from GS1 and filling up my zone with fakes.

The rule is a big frustration. I’ve had a product listed from what used to be the only licensed manufacturer of a certain brand. This manufacturer has loads of ASINs attributed to its brand and GS1 barcodes. Unfortunately the company has not renewed their GS1 Prefix, and now Amazon thinks all its previously fine GS1 barcodes aren’t GS1. It’s farscial trying to get seller support to consider this with the evidence from GS1’s own website.

These things are here to challenge us. Unfortunately most of the time the challenge is too great to ever win and you end up throwing in the towel.

I have had a few in the past where items were taken down in the same way but after a couple of messages they were reinstated. This time though it is almost every item from one pruduct range and they have been down for weeks and I am beginning to feel ignored, but having worked with call centres in the past (particularly Indian) this is often the way they park problems. Why do Amazon persist in shooting themselves in the foot.

I had just purchased more stock to try FBA so I am pretty glad that this happened before I did.
