Refund sent on 22nd May

HI there,

Just wanted to warn all of you to look out for any refunds you issue. I know they go into a kind of queue at Amazon’s end and usually take 2-4 hours to be actually given once you’ve refunded an order.

However I refunded someone on 22nd May for an item not received, and have only just received notification that it was processed- it’s now the 30th and I consider myself extremely lucky to have not had negative feedback. As my balance has only just gone down, I don’t think it’s a delayed email or anything like that- I think Amazon genuinely have taken 8 days to process the refund I authorised.

I didn’t notice that it hadn’t gone through, probably like most of us I’m having to issue more than usual at the moment. Just wanted to mention it!

Hope you’re all well!

Suzy

I have just had 2 today like that. Even through I authorised them a week ago.

I also had 2 emails today from Amazon advising refunds had been issued,

One was from last Sat and the other from last Wed,

I checked back and sure enough the refunds hadn’t actually been taken from my balance at the time they should have been

I have had around 100 refund emails today for refunds that were processed from our end days ago…it’s not done any favours for my balance

Me too - I made apost about this as I couldn’t find an existing one and yesterday someone pointed me to this thread and closed mine. So here’s a copy paste of that.

It’s a minor issue that could have huge negative effects on customer confidence and account metrics.

**copy / pasted **
I don’t make many refunds (or sales for that matter!) but have had 2 in the last 10 days or so. Both cancellation requests after I’ve dispatched the item but before it being collected. Yay more money down the drain!

Anyway… Refunds have always since day dot left my balance on my Seller Central homepage around 2-6 hours after I hit the refund button. Depending on how busy the platform is, time of day , season, leaves on the track etc - but always the same ish.

I noticed the refund I sent last Friday the 22nd hadn’t gone then had a load of sales and as I disburse every day regardless of millions (:joy:) or ten quid, I usually notice the refund leaving the account.

I clearly missed that I’d not seen it nor another and during night Friday 29th the first left the account leaving a £40 negative balance. No issue I dispatched a load of orders and just made it back into the black. Last night another “Old” refund left my account for another £30 ish sending me straight back into the red.

I know that they were legit refunds so that doesn’t bother me - just a little annoying the feeling like I’m less in control of keeping my balance in the black.

Anyone else seeing this currently?

P.S I should say that the “pending refund” changed to “prior refund” as it should hours after the refund button was pressed and the order screens only show ONE refund as they should.
