Please help - My branded clothing/fitness items

Hi,

I am a complete beginner to Amazon selling. Any advice would really help.

I want to sell my own clothing shipped from China with my logo on. I have my domain name. What else do I need to register?

How will Amazon let me sell my items? Do I need to pay to register my brand? Do I need to buy product ID’ for my item or is there another way of doing this to start with?

Thank you Amy

You have a lot to learn before you jump. Read all the help files a few times and watch as many videos as you can. Watch Seller University under the Performance tsb in Seller central.

There is much too much to put in a post response.

If selling your own brand, then you need to register your brand with the IPO so you have the same protection as other named brands.

As advised, you will need EAN (barcodes) which you will need to purchase yourself to create listings.

No doubt, unless these are your own designs manufactured for you, then will be hundreds of sellers with the same item, all with a different brand name, all supplied from the same source in China.

As clothing is a restricted category, you will need to apply for approval to sell, check out the help section on Amazon for approval to sell clothing.

Registering your brand costs £170 to register in one category, (more if you want to add others), the application is quite simple and you can upload your logo online. Once it’s done you can’t change it so make sure you are 100% happy with it before doing it.

As others have said, clothing is a gated category so getting approval to sell is really the first thing you need to do.

When you register with GS1 you will be allocated 1,000 barcode numbers and you can generate the PDF for the first 3 for free, after that you pay for however many you need as you go along.
