EFN VAT paid by customer or seller?

Hi there,

I want to enrol in EFN.

I sell my products in the EU. They cost €40+

When a customer in the UK buys my product they should have to pay import duties/VAT I think?

In June I enrolled in EFN and even though I sold a lot in the UK, I did not get any disbursement and instead owed Amazon a payment.

I am wondering if I was paying the VAT on these products being imported to UK?

I have been asking them to clarify but I do not get any real info from them?

What happens, is that the vat that would be charged in the UK ie. 20% is deducted from your price.
As it currently stands, even if you are not vat registered, this is still removed.
They then add on the VAT in the relevant country and remit it themselves. So from your point of view, it is effectively a zero rated sale.

I presume that you are also aware, that the fees for EFN are considerably higher than standard FBA?
Have you allowed for this?
