Old Seller Considering a Return - Questions on Shipping
Hi
I'm considering returning to Amazon selling after a few years away - Amazon shipping has obviously come along since then, and changes to other things withing shipping - ie using a tracked method to keep metrics good.
I sell CDs and used to have an OBA and print my labels from Royal Mail.
Couple of questions.....
- is the Amazon Shipping cheaper than Royal Mail OBA Click and Drop ?
- Do I HAVE to use Amazon Shipping ?
- If I don't, what do I need to do to ensure my metrics don't fall foul of the new regime ?
Would really appreciate some advice as I'm getting different advice every time I read the forum !
Thanks
Ian

You do NOT have to send everything tracked, and pointless for lower value items (say less than £20 as can claim from RM). Using 'Buy Shipping is a way to ensure the metric is kept good, and also confirms shipment automatically, but you don't HAVE to use it. As long as you link your OBA correctly to Amazon, then (I think) OBA prices are cheaper - though it maybe depends on the volume you send (not sure, as I don't have an OBA !).
You will probably find there are a few other things have changed too - such as confirming shipment - you do not get paid until you have done that.
