EU VAT/GST Numbers
Amazon have sent me what I believe is a generic email telling me that business have shown an interest in my product and encouraging me to sign up for their free VAT calculation service. I took a look and found that before I could sign up for it I would need to provide an EU VAT/GST number.
I am a new seller and finding that my sales have not really taken off as I had hoped. It’s all been a bit lacklustre so I wonder if I should attempt to appeal towards businesses. It would be great if it were genuinely true that there are businesses interested or is this just a general mail out?
If I were to enrol for this could someone advise how I would get an EU VAT or GST number and what other things I would need to do?
Has anyone signed up for this and seen an increase in business?
Thanks for any feedback.

VAT is a fairly big topic.
In order to help it would be useful to know:
Where are you based?
Where do you ship your goods from? Do you ship them from your country or are they in a UK warehouse (Fulfilled By Amazon etc.)?
What sort of products do you sell?

To get a VAT number you would have to become VAT registered on HMRC via the gov.uk website, hear is the link: https://www.gov.uk/vat-registration

I get the email every 2 weeks & delete it,the chance of a business being interested in my products is nil.
