I almost fainted today, I had a sale of £5.99, first in 7 days.
Ebay I have had four.
Ebay is ticking over, Amazon to me has failed.

The general consensus is that sales here are slowing in relation to Ebay, which seems to be holding steady for most, including me.

When it’s not always raining there’ll be days like this
When there’s no one complaining there’ll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this…

I think there is a serious problem with the search format. Sales of otherwise selleable goods have been pretty bad since the last 3 months the very least. I searched for laptop and it gave me very bad results, in fact I found only one or two when I keyed in just one specification but when I did a broader search, there were about 44 pages of the specification that I asked for. I am pretty convinced that the search format has changed for the worse. The seller support on board must presumably be seeing these threads, they don’t seem to care, looks like we will have to create a report and send it to jeff at amazon for a resolution.

My sales have gone from 3 per day to 2 in the last week, first I thought it might be related to the bad weather but that has improved in most parts of the country. I’ve had slow patches before but nothing like this, it feels like somethings gone wrong, guess I’ll just have to wait it out and hope for an up turn.

definitely slow on Amazon.

Third day now without a sale. This month is very quiet on Amazon even slower than last month.

Website was going full steam during the bad weather when people where buying online because they could not get out. Amazon was declining.

I’ve shut down 90 percent of my advertising on Amazon because clicks are not converting to sales anymore so the budget has been moved to Facebook where I get a decent return on investment.

Same for me. Had 1 sale on the 6th March then nothing on 7th & 8th. Finally 2 sales on the evening of the 9th. My payments summary is due today (10th) & I’m in the red with the dreaded long term storage fees & removal fees, as I’m now dwindling my FBA stock down & won’t be using that again once its cleared.

Here are a few things I’ve noticed on Amazon (could be coincidence… maybe not) that have hit our sales over the last couple of years

We trialled FBA about 2 years ago. At first it was good and added to our normal sales. We only sent in items we knew shifted well to see if it was worth doing it with more lines.

Each item we sent in has 9 size varieties. We don’t sell many of the smallest and largest sizes so we didn’t send those into FBA. Straight away our own sales for these items stopped overnight, even though at that time we were offering free P&P, people were opting to pay £3+ for postage (I’m assuming the £7+ expedient for the other sales was actually FREE PRIME shipments). As each size would drop off, so would any more sales for that size (no one bought that popular size from us).

When all sizes were sold we sold very few ourselves for about a month and then our FBM sales for those items returned to normal.

Everytime Amazon send us an email (‘Reduce the price of your item’; ‘You’re not using your sponsored ads’) etc. If we ignore it our sales go through a 2 week lul. The same if there’s an apparantly unrelated glitch on the site.

There are a couple of sellers who post on here regularly and their patterns tend to coincide with ours. I get the ebb and flow and up and down of sales, but Etsy, eBay and our own online store are pretty much the same as they’ve always been.

Some weeks I can sell 2 of an item in a 24 period and it’s in the top 100 best sellers of its category. That either means sales in our category are rubbish, or we’re being put in the top 100 for some reason other than items sold.

We’ve started doing FBA again about 5 months ago and I’m seeing the same patterns. The last massive dip (beginning to mid Feb) came just after they kept bombarding us with emails about trying their European FBA programme (we tried it once and realised it was ridiculously expensive).
