Multiple accounts - Registration not complete

Hi, I am a seller who is currently going through the long verification process… my question is not about the verification itself as I appreciate it takes a while to get verified.
My question - and I appreciate the help from experienced sellers is as follows.

Prior to registering the current account that is going through the verification process I have started registering an account using a different email address but have not completed the process - I reached the stage where I have to upload the company documents (note it is a different company to the company in the account currently awaiting verification) and did not proceed further.

I have since contacted seller support to terminate the registration process and the response I got is as below.

"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

I have gone through your email and understand that you want to close your account. I have verified that you have not completed the sign-up process of your seller account. Hence no further action is required from your end to close this account and you can simply ignore it.

You will not be charged on your Credit Card towards this seller account.

However, if you still wish to have this seller account closed, you must complete the registration of this account and visit the following help page to know how to close your account:

Having read through some of the issues other sellers have experienced regarding multiple accounts

  • Do I ignore the account as informed by seller support (would that have any impact on the verification of the second account and could that lead to its deactivation?)
  • Do I proceed with the long painful verification process and then close the account? and would this also have any impact on the verification of the second account and lead to it being deactivated?
