Trouble with listing product
Hi Im new to Amazon and need some help.
I have sourced a product from China and i have had to buy barcodes for the product from GS1, There are 3 sizes and 2 colour variations so I have 6 GTINS that i have purchased. I dont have a brand yet.
The product I have is already listed on amazon but not exactly the same. I dont want to use someone elses template as it looks as if it uses the existing pictures where the template comes from - I want to use my own pictures and descriptions.
I have tried to list via the “I have a product not sold on amazon” and gone through the variations tab and put in the 13 digit GTINS from GS1 but an error code comes up saying the number string is not long enough… am i doing something wrong?
If I change the GTIN tab to UPC or EAN it says this -
It also comes up with an error message “You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list. If you believe you have reached this message in error, please contact Seller Support.”
This is really frustrating as I have just bought barcodes directly from GS1 that dont seem to work properly on amazon which is what they reccomend.
Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

You need to change it to ean however, the brand name needs to match what you put against it on gs1 and you can only use a brand name on amazon if you have brand approval or brand registry

I don’t yet have a brand name for my product and was going to sell this as a ‘generic’ item does that mean I have to match the brand name on GS1 as generic, Or do I need to get GTIN exemption?

I have the same error message, used different numbers, changed to EAN, UPC, etc. Still no luck. Anyone any more ideas as to why?
