Product Compliance Requests
Hi, I design and have a small range of Toys and Games SKU’s and we are a registered brand on Amazon. All of my products are tested at accredited testing labs, and have reports showing that they pass all the required EN71 criteria, which has been a significant outgoing for my small business. Our product packaging all include CE markings, each is clearly marked with it’s product name, our brand name and trade mark, and address for our business. We are aware and will update future products with the UKCA marking, but I understand this comes into force from Jan 2022. We also sell our products in Germany, and pay for the Amazon Responsible Persons service to cover not having an EU address to meet compliance.
I have had Product Compliance Requests for a new product in the UK and for products in Germany (which are the same as a UK version of the product, but all packaging and instructions are in German). I have submitted photos and EC declarations, and we tick all the compliance boxes for both, but our applications keep on being declined, and Amazon do not provide any clarity about why they are being declined. I have opened cases logs to ask for clarity, as I will happily have any wrongly labelled products returned, or will correct documentation if it’s incorrect, however I just keep getting responses about ‘reactivating’ my account (all of the SKU’s are still active, so this makes no sense to me).
My mother passed away a few weeks ago, so I am snowed under with things to organise related to this, whilst trying to look after my elderly father also, so this issues is adding a whole of of stress and upset at a very difficult time. I would like to find a product compliance expert who can look at our product compliance submissions and test reports, to try to help us to understand why our applications are being declined. If anyone can shed any light or suggest a person to help, I would be very grateful.

You can use it already. From Jan, the CE markings will no longer be valid in the UK (obviously, OK for existing products)

So the product you are selling in the UK has German instructions? If I have understood correctly, this is the issue. The compliance team say that along with CE mark etc, instructions must also be in teh language of teh marketplace being sold on. In this case UK.
