Amazon message to customer after cancellation accepted by seller
Amazon are still sending incorrect information to customers after a seller accepts a cancellation request.
the customer has not been charged for an item that has not been marked as despatched - but the funds on their account are (probably) reserved as part of the pre-authorisation process.
for example
Subject: Order cancellation request from Amazon customer Mr Jones (Order: 123-1234567-1234567)
Hello, Thank you for shopping with us. Amazon seller “seller name” has confirmed the cancellation of your recent order. You can expect to see the money refunded to your account within 5 working days. Regards “seller name”

From your example shared it can be that the customer had the funds reserved for that order.
