The automatic zoom when hovering with the mouse over an image used to work perfectly for us. Since a while most of our product images do not offer that feature anymore, they are JPEG and 1500x1500, what could be the issue? DPI is 96.
That’s weird, thanks for letting me know. Maybe the image files are actually too large, amazon scales them down and then the zoom is gone. But 233 KB sounds not like an unacceptable size to me. I will try a few different things, hope I can get that fixed soon.
EDIT: I used Postimages as fileserver for my image URLs to my flat files. Does only support up to 800px. imgur works perfectly fine, no restrictions on the resolution and zoom is working now.
So I upscaled the images to 300DPI using a random online tool, it still is not showing the zoom. No suggestions here?
You shouldn’t need 300dpi for web images, you don’t really need 96. And amending a 96dpi image to 300dpi won’t really help. All amazon advise is that for optimal experience, the size should 1600px on the longest side.
Have you got an example ASIN?
We actually used 1000 px before and those images still have zoom activated, here is an example ASIN:
B09KM28BNH
The main image is way smaller than 1500 px and still zoom is activated, but it has been there for a while, all the other images were added later and have 1500 px, no zoom available.
