HELP! US account suspended - UK seller

Hello,

I really need your help. I am a UK seller, I’ve been selling on Amazon for over a year and I had no problems verifying my seller account. Last month I decided to expand to the US so I registered a US account. After a few days I received an email saying that my account was successfully verified and I could start selling in the US. Unfortunately, just a few minutes after logging in into my new US account I received an email saying that my US account was suspended due to lack of enough documents confirming my identity.

I submitted all the documents but the account is still deactivated and they keep asking about a valid credit card. I went through many similar threads on this forum and I read that they do accept UK debit cards and not only credit cards and many people confirmed that they registered in the US using a UK debit card. I did upload my Natwest debit card details and I was charged $0.01 by Amazon. Unfortunately, that did not help and I received an email saying the account is still suspended (please see the entire email below). I would really appreciate if you could help me decide what to do. What payment methods do you use as UK sellers? My idea was to get verified using my Natwest details and then, once verified, change the deposit method to my TransferWise account so that I can be paid in USD and not GBP.

I have business accounts with the following banks:
Natwest - Visa card
Starling - Master card
Revolut - Master card
TransferWise

Thank you SO much for your help.

Enjoy your day!

Email from Amazon US:

We have reviewed the document(s) you recently provided but do not have enough information to reactivate your seller account at this time. We were unable to verify the document(s) you provided. Why is this happening?

Your Amazon seller account has been deactivated in accordance with section 3 of Amazon’s Business Solutions Agreement. If you currently sell on Amazon, we need additional documentation to verify your payment methods and your identity.

How do I reactivate my account?

Please confirm that there is a valid credit card on file, and provide the requested document(s) in .pdf, .png, .jpeg, or .gif format.

The name and address on the document(s) must match your name and address in Seller Central. Please certify that you have provided the document(s) in one of the supported languages. Supported languages include: Arabic, simplified Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish.

How do I send the required information?

Please submit your documents by following this link:

Once we receive your documents, we will review them and decide whether you may sell on Amazon again.

But it looks like they won’t let you do so. Are you sure your debit card allows overseas transaction in non-sterling sums? Any other restrictions on using it? Does the name on it exactly match the details you’ve given to Amazon US - every word, comma, space etc must be the same
In any case, they are specifically asking for a credit card, so try adding one

Hi - give up now & stop getting stressed over it… You can’t win this one i am afraid

I had the same issue with the US site - they even took the $49 dollar fee…
We have a large Amazon account
They then said the exact same to us - and no matter what was provided it would not go through
We even had a legal team prepare everything - and Amazon simply replied with a set reply each time

After 4 years on Amazon and selling over a million pounds of my own branded and manufactured products - still no personal support - no help - no set representative
We manufacture chemicals - Amazon have no idea on the matter - yet will argue like they know everything & more about labeling and regulations than we do… Funny that - considering we have to obtain licenses - from real government bodies
They are a bunch of cowboys - the system is set up to protect buyers only and make Amazon as many fees as possible

I have never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional company
It is a disgrace and they should be ashamed
Funny how they were super nice when they wanted to stock our brands
But we said NO - as the system is there to rake in cash for them - sellers are punished for Amazons mistakes & inferior support system

eBay - kicks Amazons arse for seller support - simply - by a long long way…

We will be removing our brands from Amazon

If enough of us manufacturers did that - Amazon would soon have to start to offer more…

I am past the point of caring

Hi OriOri,
If Amazon say your credit card is invalid, check the following points:-

Firstly Check with your Bank that your card is Chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace(s) for which the card is being provided. (US$)

Then…
The number you entered should match the number on your credit card.
The billing address you entered should match the billing address on your credit card statement.
The postal code should not have any spaces.
The card is still valid (has not crossed the card expiration date).
The card holder’s name you entered should match the card holder’s name on your credit card (in the Latin-script alphabet).
Check with your financial institution to confirm your credit card meets the following criteria:

Adequate credit available.
No limitations on internet or mail order charges.
Is not a “prepaid” card.

I hope this helps

I have just had exactly the same happen to me today. Received an email saying my documents were approved, my US account verified, was told to finish off the registration, then as soon as I did my account was suspended.

@OriOri

Have you managed to sort out the credit card validation issue? As it seems quite a familiar issue with UK based sellers, where your UK account seems to be accepted but the US seller account struggles to go through the verification/validation screen especially with the credit card?

Please advise, and if you did succeed, please share the fix that helped the verification go through?
