Media products about to be gated and requiring approval

Hello to all of you

We initially Received an email as the one below from seller performance concerning DVD category with 3 Asins that we never had or even listed , so we just ignored it

And today , we received this one with no Asins specified but Amazon requiring invoices for our top sales

Hello,

Please read this email carefully. The listing information described below may affect your ability to sell certain products on Amazon.co.uk.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a great customer experience, we are implementing additional selling qualifications for certain popular products in the DVD category.

What does this mean for me?

Based on various performance metrics, effective immediately you will no longer be able to sell certain popular products in the DVD category and your listings for these products have been removed.

Why am I receiving this message?

You are receiving this message because you have sold popular DVD products in the past.

Can I seek approval to sell these products?

To seek approval to sell these types of products, please reply to this email with the following:

– Copies of invoices or receipts from your supplier(s) issued in the last 180 days for your most popular products in the DVD category (covering at least 10 units).
– Your invoices should contain contact information for your supplier, including name, phone number, address, and website.

You can send .pdf, .jpg, .png, or .gif files. These documents must be authentic and unaltered. You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible.

Can I still use FBA?

Effective immediately, only sellers approved to sell certain popular DVD products may send shipments of these products to fulfillment centers. You may continue to use FBA for other products you sell.

How will this affect my existing FBA inventory of affected products?

If you have remaining inventory of the affected products in Amazon fulfillment centers you will need to create a Removal Order for return or disposal of your remaining FBA inventory.

If you do not submit a Removal Order for impacted inventory by 8/31/2018, we may dispose of this unsellable inventory in accordance with the FBA Service Terms and policies.

We appreciate your cooperation in this important matter, and thank you for selling on Amazon.
Sincerely,

Seller Performance Team

So right now , we can no more edit products …

And It’s not a problem for us to send invoices

The only problem is to send invoices and feel that the main reason is to gradually have all Amazon categories gated to big companies only

When did you get the email? Also Im not sure what they mean by “certain popular products” I think they are choosing at random, because, some lines are very high sales ranks, but some are quite low.
Some lines I have sold 100+ units in 90 days and have about 25 in stock, why not let me sell them off? Instead of making them unavailable.

Its just one thing after another, have been having very bad chest pains since yesterday, I am starting to freak out here, as I have over 50,000 units in stock at Amazon.

I had the same Email.

Three listings Removed.

Four others that have sold I have tried to Relist, but Listing Limitation meams I cant.

Am on 99% feedback, the Three that were removed, most of the other sellers have worse feedback than me.

Had some new stock earlier, some wont let me list, others I can, I got a Title with both blu ray & Dvd versions, listed the Blu ray no problem but wont let me list the Dvd…

I got some excellent feedback and many repeat customers but this doesnt seem to matter.

The worse thing is you sell something fine, but wont let you relist, you dont know where you stand with the particular title till you sell it then try to Relist it.

Its a real possibility that , this is the direction Amazon eventually intends to pursue . Chances are there will be a gradual gating of most if not all categories . Amazon are probably trying to ensure that the sites Sellers are mainly high end and high volume sellers .

Its always a good option to have other options , like your own website etc than just totally relying on Amazon . Easier said than done of course , as driving traffic to one’s own website can be extremely costly .

Oh ok, so it is only for FBA - well it is simple isn’t it… fulfil them your self. Who on earth would use FBA anyway? It is so expensive.

Since August 1st been a nightmare on here, can hardly relist anything in Dvd or Blu Ray, and Amazon also keep removing on average Five Dvds/Blu Rays per day. Looks like my good feedback counts for nothing as other sellers with much lower feedback are still selling what I cant.
