When does Amazon pay you for goods sold?

Im a new seller on Amazon handmade. I joined on 15 Aug.
Since then I have sold 4 picture frames. I havent been paid for any of them yet by Amazon.

  1. When does Amazon pay you please?
  2. Do they pay you automatically? Or do you need to claim your funds?
It all seems to be held by Amazon to cover any ‘chargebacks’ I might receive??? Appreciate responses from seasoned sellers. Thanks,

Yes. You have to wait for several weeks after the last Estimated Delivery Date before Amazon release the funds, on a 7-day or 14-day rota. Payment will be automatic but will take several working days to reach your bank account. If you look at Reports>Payments, the “Funds available” box will show you when the money has been released and the “Request payment” button will no longer be greyed out. If you want your money slightly earlier than the automatic payment, click on that button and it will be actioned immediately (but still takes a few days to get to your bank)

Payment usually takes around two weeks but the checks and velocity limits can go on for months or even years.

When I started selling on Amazon you could disburse funds to your bank once every 24 hours. Now, it is held for some time before it’s available. This amount of time seems quite random. Just be patient and eventually it will be available, or released automatically. The last amount I had held took 2 days shy of 4 weeks, from sale to available.

Maybe i’ve gotten this wrong, but I would say I’m a newer seller (just over a year) and can also disburse daily. It was my understanding that all accounts can disburse daily but that newer accounts, like mine, have a smaller pot to draw from due to the amount of reserve being held.

Thanks all. Ive clicked ‘request payment’ from the Payments Dashboard as it says ‘funds available’ . I’ll see what happens.

It shows an amount to cover my first 3 sales, but leaves a balance of funds from my 4th sale (guess in case of chargeback). Fingers crosssed I receive my very first payment now.

It’s taken me 2 months to get any funds released! arghhhh - too long Amazon!!

I too disburse every day but as a newish (3 years?) seller there’s always a 2 week reserve in there.

It’s a pain when you first start but once you’re past that first 2 weeks it doesn’t make much difference.

Some things to bear in mind, OP:
When you disburse, the next automatic date will always reset to another 2 weeks in advance.
If Amazon suspend your account for any reason you will be unable to withdraw funds until it’s resolved so it makes sense to disburse daily so you have the least amount left in the ‘pot’.

As private sellers we’ve seen the Payout procedure change - to our detriment - earlier this year. Prior to the change, a confirmed despatch by 17:00 hrs Friday would result in funds received the following Wednesday (5 days); now Payout is based on Expected delivery date.
We presently have four items sold 28 Sep - 09 Oct incl. for which Payout funds are Not Available. These include two items for which the buyers have left 5 star feedback.
Crazy!
Happily, as we’re merely selling off unwanted items and not running a business, this is not a problem but for small businesses with cash-flow issues we can understand the grief it must cause.
