Finding wholesalers
I am having problems finding wholesalers for backpacks.

No offence, but if anyone here knows of a good supplier for backpacks [or any other item for that matter] they are not likely to share it with anyone else, since that would merely be inviting competition.
It must be possible to search online for such wholesalers though, or find a range you would like to sell and contact the manufacturers direct .

It isn’t difficult at all. Simply find a brand which you are interested in, I am not sure what kind of backpacks are you looking for, whether ones for sport, tourism or fashionable pieces, then search the internet for their website or contact information and let them know that you would like to resell their brand online (on Amazon).
While some may not cooperate, I am confident you will be able to find a company which would be happy to do business with you.

Call me Old School but going to the trade shows would sort you out, you can source from boutique ones who can do customisations to the licensed product manufacturers/wholesalers. It’s back to the school time so if you are looking for school items not the best time, they are very busy now.
