Re-Verification - Catch 22

Was successfully selling on Amazon for a number of years up until August 2020 when we get a message:

We were unable to verify the information you provided when registering for a Selling on Amazon payment account and, as a result, your Selling on Amazon payment account could not be opened. Unfortunately, this means that you will not be able to continue to sell on Amazon.

Amazon are currently holding nearly £4000 of our sales.

We’re now trying to reactivate our seller account, and we’re being asked to provide a bank statement (dated within 180 days) for an account that we previously had our Euro dispersements paid into, problem is this account was closed some time ago, so it’s not possible to provide this.

The bank account in question has been removed from our account, but we do have another bank account registered that has been verified by Amazon.

On the Account Info Identity Information page, under Business and Contact Information, it’s Proof of Address which is flagged. We have submitted a utility bill, and our other verified bank account statement, but both were rejected with a response asking specifically for a statement for the closed bank account.

Struggling to understand why they require a statement for a bank account that has been closed, and we’re removed, when we have already provided a statement for the bank account that is verified on our seller account. Seems a bit unreasonable.

Any help from Amazon staff here would be appreciated, or advice on what we can do next.

In your personal name and residential address ?

Are all shareholders with 25% or more named on amazon as beneficial owners ?

Did you remove the old bank account before they flagged it for verification ?

Are both old and new bank accounts in the ltd company name ?

No, different account, the *10 account is the PSP account that’s not in our name, and was closed over 180 days ago, so no statements available. They’re requesting something that we simply can’t provide.

I think it’s reasonable to expect a response as to why they will only accept a statement specifically from this bank account for the stated purpose of verifying our registered business address, and why they can’t use an alternative method, for example the verified bank account that’s been on our account since day one. We’re not opening a new seller account here, we’ve sold successfully for a number of years with good feedback.

We would like to sell on Amazon again, but at the minimum they should facilitate access to our existing funds.
