Can you make sales without owning Buy Box?

Just a quick question before my products arrive in stock… Can you make sales even without owning the Buy Box…
the way i have read it is… a customer lands on your listing and even if they “add to cart” and buy it that way or if the hit “Buy Now” it always goes to the one who owns the buy box.
If thats the case how the fudge do you get sales if you never have the buy box. tried googling it but its all about how to win the buy box,

I see from one of your other posts that you are listing a generic product and have GTIN exemption. How have you identified any existing listing to add your product to and so if you are creating a new listing, you will have no competing sellers to worry about for the buy box anyway.

Ah, i see so you have to physically “join” another same or very similar listing. Amazon doesnt do it automatically if it see mine could be same as another. when i have just looked on helium 10 at a page of products. most of them only had one seller of the product and yet the buy box on most of them had a completely different name ??

Is that the gas you are planning on selling ?
I really don’t know, but I would guess there would be lots of safety regs you will need to meet.

It’s software that some Amazon sellers use.
Initially i thought you were talking about the fact that other sellers are often hidden behind an extra click, but now i think you mean that sometimes the brand name at the start of a product title isn’t in the company name with the buybox. That would be completely normal.
