UK Seller - Just started listing on Amazon.com
Hi,
Just registered & listed some items on Amazon.com.
Can you help me with some pointers…?
-
Any VAT/Tax implications I should know about
-
How do I set up delivery charges to cover postal to US
-
Any other considerations I should be thinking about prior to adding more listings?
Thanks in advance

Just a quick thought,
until you learn about postage, especially, it might be a good idea to keep your listings on holiday mode, or you may end up seriously out of pocket.

Are you going to do FBA or just FBM?
In the USA, overseas sellers are not required to pay the VAT. Sales tax is collected automatically using Amazon’s Marketplace Tax Facilitator.
Some policies are different, so I would advise you to review them.
You will need a return address in the USA for FBM returns or FBA removal orders.
Unless you are an Individual Seller, you will be able to set your own shipping costs.

As far as I know , the sales tax situation in the USA is still very confusing with each state often having their own laws of how it should be collected , and how much . Even the tax experts seem to differ .
So while .com may be a great market to sell in if you have the right product , just be careful about the advice you get on the forum . You need someone with a qualified knowledge of sales tax in the online arena .
