Country of Origin (COO) - Updating the information

We have seen multiple threads on this topic, and I wanted to break it down into easy-to-follow steps to: 1) understand which SKUs are missing this attribute and 2) how to update the attribute in bulk.

***If the Category Listings Report is not available for your account, please leave a comment below, and I'll promptly raise a request to have it enabled.***

1) How do I know which of my SKUs are missing COO?

For this step, you will need to download the Category Listing Report (CLR) - Important: If this report is not available, please contact our Selling Partner Support and they will make it available for you.

  • Go to Reports and select Inventory Reports from the menu bar in Seller Central.
  • Select Category Listing Report under the available options.
  • Ensure to set Select Status Filter as All to include all products.
  • Click Request Report to download. - Note: It may take up to 45 minutes for this report to be generated. Under normal circumstances, creating a report takes less than a minute.*
  • COO information can be found in different columns depending on the report type and categories. You can search with the keyword "Country or Origin".

2) How do I update the COO for my products in bulk?

- Visit the Add Products via Upload page.

- Click “Get Product Template” under “Update product details”.

- Open the template you have just generated and populate four columns:

  • Column A feed_product_type: provide the product type of the ASIN for which you would like to update COO
  • Column B item_sku: provide the SKU for which you would like to update COO
  • update_delete column (column position will vary depending on product type): select Partial Update (this setting ensures that the values in your catalogue remain unchanged for attributes you are not populating in your template)
  • country_of_origin column (column position will vary depending on product type): provide the COO for your product

- Save a copy of the file

- Visit the Upload Your Inventory File page.

- Browse to find your file or drag and drop it, then click upload.

We have completed the task for the UK marketplace but is there any easy way to transfer the information to the other EU marketplaces without having to generate a product upload template for each product type (of which we have many) in each of the individual marketplaces ?

Hi again Robert.

I really have no idea how to update listings in bulk despite trying to understand it many times. As a result many are way out of date.

is there any real person help available from Amazon? or are there any companies or specialists that you can recommend to help me.

I have a successful brand and thousands of listings that are all very similar and I need multiple things updating but I'm terrified to change anything incase I mess it up.

I do it manually but I can't scratch the surface as it takes forever. Potential Sales are impacted as a result

Any help would be most appreciated.

So perhaps you can explain why when I completed this exercise on many of the listings, UNITED KINGDOM was not valid entry on the batch report.

Batch ID: 87984019997

Interesting!

Also how does one obtain a report where I can just amend the COO and not the other information so that I do not get 700 records updated only out of 2800??????

Rome was not built in a day and you have given us a few weeks to do this and your GPSR updates? I am sorry but my superpower cape is out of action currently and I can only do what I can do, not the work of 10 people.

And as for your suggestion to OP about third party support, are you kidding, you know we are in a cost of living crisis and most businesses are fighting for their lives here!

There is a Youtube video which is double easy to follow, I find it easier to visually see it.

Go on Youtube and search:

Amazon Add the country of origin in bulk step by step guide 2024

also has a simplified template to upload with only the columns you need, saves the risk of over-riding other data.

@Roberto_Amazon

We have tried doing 1 at a time, not in a batch, as batch causes issues. However, 'brand registry' is the issue. Sellers cannot alter the listing, so then what happens?

Likewise, what about the new EU information to input, as you want EU details on each item to sell to Nothern Ireland, even though they are in the UK, has that been altered yet?
