Can my partner take over my Amazon Seller account?

Hi

I was wondering if it’s possible for my partner (wife to be) to take over my seller account without it being suspended.

We are thinking of splitting the business between us, I focus on Ebay and other venues and She focuses on Amazon and others.

The Amazon business would be changed to her name.
Both Sole Traders
I’m trading from on office.
Partner would be trading from another location.

I’m aware that Amazon don’t like you having two business accounts, sharing IP’s etc but would they have issues with changing the Sole Trader name on the account?

Thanks

If you were a LTD company I doubt you would have any issues that being said as long as your partner does not have a seller account of her own then I don’t see why it would be a problem.

You could just setup a LTD company together, have all the funds from amazon go to your current bank and straight to the LTD and the same from EBAY to the LTD, then it’s shared?

Not allowed. She would have to open her own account.

Seller accounts are not transferrable and handing it to another person is prohibited:

I transfered my seller account to my Son. It’s in his name and monies paid into his bank account. I am an authorised user so I am able to access the account. It took a while for it to be authorised though. Send an email to seller support and explain what you want to do and they will guide you through it.

Accounts can be transferred within family, this is the only case where Amazon will allow this.

So, surely it would be best for the OP to wait until they are married and then transfer to his wife.

By changing these details it would place your Amazon account under verification . Verification can at times be a really frustrating process . Why not , let your partner handle the ebay account instead . Is there already an ebay account open and in whose name ?

Yes, if you are getting married, I don’t see the reason to change anything in the Seller Account that will trigger an auto-bot to put your account under new verification…

Surely - as future “Husband and Wife” you can come to some private arrangement about who looks after which account, without the need to change Beneficiary Owner details…

Thanks everyone.

I suspected it might be easier me keeping Amazon and letting t’other half take over Ebay.

We are exploring the option of splitting the business as that would half sales and hence take each business just under the VAT registration limit.

Looking at all options to save money. lol

Thanks

We are just exploring our options at present and investigating so we will definitely take this into account.
