Good Afternoon,
Looking for some help please again! I have a beauty product to list that I purchased with an invoice from a store. Unfortunately when listing you have to put in the expiration date of the product but I cannot find this anywhere. The item itself , the box and invoice nothing shows. I have also tried to find a batch code to enter into another website to tell me but there doesn’t seem to be a batch code either !
can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have you checked with your supplier or the manufacturer?
It’s quite possible that there actually isn’t an expiration date for the product.
Which would explain why there is no date on it.
However, Amazon’s way of looking at expiration dates is just so that they remove the stock, when that date is reached. It does not rotate stock as you would expect.
So I would suggest that you just put a reasonable date on the product when creating the shipment.
As long as the stock sells, it’s not going to be an issue.
thank you all for your quick replies and help. The store was Boots. I haven’t called was dreading trying to speak to customer services and being on hold etc…!
If your product is does not expire , then maybe you can change the listing for it to be non date expiration? in which case you do not need a date.
Save yourself a suspension and stick it on the bay
Hello @Alexeric_Group,
In regards to expiration dates, well, we doe have further instruction on our help pages, Expiry dates on seller-fulfilled products & Expiry dates on FBA products (do let me know if these links work).
But will attach the most relevant bit of text for your viewing pleasure/
Amazon considers any product with a shelf life, or that loses effectiveness with time, to be subject to expiration, even if an expiry date is not indicated on the product packaging.
Products subject to expiration include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Topical products that are intended for human or animal use, such as skin creams, soaps, shampoos, hairsprays and cosmetics
We do have a follow up bit of text,
Expiry-dated products must follow these labelling requirements…
I’ll stop here otherwise this post would be extremely long, but do give it a read.
And thank you to the other Seller for being so helpful!.
Regards,
Winston
Thank you all for your help. I have managed to sort out the issue, it was a newbie error.
