New seller in need of help

Hi, I’ve been doing some product research and now want to sell a generic product with Amazon. When creating the listing it asked me for SKU number. How can find this number or what guidelines do I use to create one? I filled in ABC123 and since then I’m unable to change it. If I use that as SKU will my inventory become lost once I shipped to a fulfilment centre?

The SKU is only relevant to you for your stock keeping purposes. It can be whatever you want.

If you are sending into Amazon an Amazon FNSKU will likely be generated - which is what amazon will use to locate stock within their purposes.
