VTR - Suggested work around?
Hi all,
As i use Royal Mail 2nd class (using a franker) for almost all of my shipping I’m stuck with this VTR nonsense. I have a mix of letter size and also small parcel and large letters. Can anybody suggest a solution to fit all that would fix the VTR rate that doesn’t involve using buy postage services or going to the post office daily? The exemption that was previously applied for all RM Franking was perfect - now I’m totally stuck with what to do. I’m wondering if parcel size on the confirmation screens maybe have something to do with this too.
Has anybody found any sort of work around?
Thanks in advance.

I was marking as 2nd class now that is being included in VTR i am marking as stamps/franking.
That is everything because 90% of my sales are under £10. If over £10 it was not on Amazon so gets recorded properly on a site that helps its sellers.

If your using a franking machine for your posting. Surely you can just select Royal Mail 2nd Class Stamps/Franking when manually dispatching in Seller Central and your VTR will be at N/A.

You need to select the following from the dropdowns:
Carrier: Royal Mail
Delivery service: Royal Mail 2nd Class Stamps/Franking
The screenshot from your report shows you’ve been selecting:
Carrier: Royal Mail
Delivery service: Royal Mail 2nd Class
This was exempt until the change last week.

I had 230 on my report showing as invalid, they were marked as Royal Mail 2nd class, with the changes that took place!! These were showing as invalid so I went in and changed all the relevant order numbers to 2nd class franking and they are slowly dropping off, I am at 45% VTR now hopefully it will rectify totally in next few days but I am now and moving forward actually manually marking my orders as shipped 2nd or 1st class franking on seller central as oppose to marking as shipped via Royal Mail click and drop. All my stuff is large letter. I hope this works!! It really is a joke! I could understand if your seller metrics show bad delivery rate but I have no issues on my seller metrics. Will see how things pan out.

Isn’t it a wonderful scenario when sellers are openly discussing which lie to give to an Amazon system in order to correct their stupidity ! !

Customer notice: Royal Mail® will be withdrawing all domestic products that do not carry a 2D barcoded label. The current coloured Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® by 9am or by 1pm and Royal Mail Signed For® Labels should not be applied to your items as they only carry the 1D barcode. Your item label should now be printed via your migrated shipping solution, that will produce your 2D Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® by 9am or by 1pm and Royal Mail Signed For® Label.
We will contact you to advise you of your migration date but in the meantime, for more information please visit royalmail.com/shippingsolutions
I don’t know if this applies to Franking.

Thank you I just did a few yesterday and this morning as wanted to see if it changed percentage. I have written about 5 times and know it affects others. Will do some more and yes I started on the recent ones first.

Sorry to jump in but does RM 48 crl48 code count towards your VTR? We are currently running at 100% and would like to continue as that but with costs for a tracking service so expensive would like to keep the cost down on some of the low value items. TIA

not sure if this belongs here, but the main reason I don’t use buy shipping through Amazon, is they put in a shipping date of the day you buy the labels, is there a way, so if you buy a label on a Saturday, you can put Tuesday as the ship date, or buy on a Wed, and put Friday as the ship date?

I also frank everything. So I use the dropdown list and either select the 1st or 2nd class stamp/franked option.
No problems then - if you need to add the franked tracking - just copy and paste it against the customers item.
This then by passes and make the VTR- N/A
