Brand products Vs Branded products
Hey
I’m noticing a massive increase in items on Amazon that are the same generic item but with a different brand name.
Just wondering why Amazon is allowing this?
It’s making it a horrible experience to buy for example I’ll see this:
White toilet brush generic branded: scoopa
White toilet brush generic branded: floopa
White toilet brush generic branded: proopa
White toilet brush generic branded: croopa
Same exact item with a tacky brand name.
Does no one actually own their own brand products on Amazon that differ from everyone elses?

They’ve practically encouraged it through brand registry and now are stuck in the situation they didn’t want to be in in the first place of looking like eBay with 50 different results for what is essentially the same item. Of course it suits them because as private label people then race to spend money on PPC for the product rather than compete with others on the buybox for a generic item - so Amazon make more money.

One reason why I now NEVER buy anything from Amazon.
I believe allowing every Tom, Dick and Harry, (or Tina, Daisy and Helen - just for equality !!) to just dream up their own brand for generic items was a HUGE mistake, totally ruining the Amazon catalogue.
