Blaggers... where do I stand?

Sold 5 items valued £16 in total to the same buyer, sent via Royal Mail signed large letter 2nd class. The tracking shows the item being delivered and signed for by the buyer (First name written, not actually a signature) and the GPS shows the point on the map as being very very close to her house address on the order (maybe next door).

She claims she hasnt received and would still like the item, Ive replied saying contact neighbours and sorting office etc…

But where do I actually stand here? Will amazon side with her if it comes to this? Whats even the point using Royal Mail signed for services if they sometimes just leave it elsewhere? I cant prove she is not telling the truth but my gut tells me she isnt.

I send all my items through filled by merchant, if I decided to send items to be fulfilled by amazon what happens in situations like this? If she wanted the item resending and it had been lost do amazon just use your stock again and who pays for this? I`m brand registered and its my listing so no one would be selling the same item. If she wanted refunding who would pay for the refund?

Thanks for your help

Were they separate orders or 5 items on different order numbers?

Yes

It may have been left with a neighbour so you did right to ask her to check. However, there have been many threads on here in the past regarding GPS proof of delivery. It proves nothing; it only proves the delivery person was in that location at a particular time, not that they’ve actually dropped the item through the correct letterbox. This is why the couriers photograph the drop offs, though even that isn’t foolproof.

It may not be the buyer’s signature. RM have only just started to get signatures again up here but some areas haven’t started at all, whilst others have been doing it for months. It may be the RM postie doing the signing; the buyer may know nothing about it.

The items would be delivered by Amazon Logistics. Any come back would be dealt with by them and refunded by them. One of the reasons we are 100% FBA is for no issues like this. A lot of sellers think FBA is not for them but for many items we sell, it is is cheaper to use FBA than to do it ourselves (overall fees and postage).
