How do I see a buyer has paid?
Hi new here, thought I would venture beyond ebay but I’m finding amazon complicated, I’ve had a customer purchase something from me (which is great) but how do I see the item has been paid for before I ship it?

Technically you cant. Provided your dispatch email has come from Amazon (and not fake), then you can be sure Amazon are holding money from the buyers card. Payment only shows in your account once you have marked it as dispatched.

On eBay you are paid directly for goods you sell.
Amazon is slightly different in that they act as the payments processor. If Amazon have said to ship something to a buyer (and only when they do, always check in Seller Central if unsure) then do so. As with eBay only ever ship to the address Amazon supply with the order. Amazon will then guarantee the payment to you.
Once the item is dispatched (you must mark it dispatched of course) then the balance will be added to your seller account. The chances are as a new seller that balance will be unavailable to you for at least 14 days to check you are an above-board seller.
Be aware that if you ship an item without valid tracking at the time you mark it dispatched, any claim made by the buyer for non-delivery will pretty much be automatically awarded in their favour.
Amazon tends to side with the buyers to create shopper loyalty where eBay tends to be more balanced with both sellers and buyers covered.
