Suspected IP complaint?

Hello, I recently received a message from Amazon and I’m unsure about its content. I had simply added a product to my inventory and never intended to sell it. Could someone please clarify this alleged violation for me?

Dear seller,
We have deactivated the listings shown at the bottom of this email.

Why is this happening?

Adhering to Amazon’s policies is important because it reflects the quality of the Amazon customer experience that you create when selling in our store. We have found that one or more of your listings have violated Amazon policies. We have included details of the specific policy violations related to each removed listing at the bottom of this email. Please ensure that the products you offer comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Amazon’s policies listed in this email.

We are here to help.

If you have questions about this policy or your account, contact us at https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/cu/contact-us.

How do I reinstate my listing?

Refer to the “How do I reinstate my listings?” section below for specific details on how to reinstate the removed listings.

Have your listings been removed in error?

If you believe there has been an error, please submit an explanation. Your explanation should include the following information:

–Evidence or documentation showing that each removed listing complies with the relevant Amazon policy shown below.

How do I send the required information?

Submit this information at https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/performance/dashboard.

What happens if I do not send the requested information?

If you do not take steps to address the policy violations and incur additional violations, your Amazon selling account may be deactivated.

What was the purpose of adding it then?

Sometimes as they are suspected and not reported, simply deleting them removes the violation - unfortunately not always

Is it a brand issue?

Why would you add a product to your inventory if you didn’t intend to sell it?? Anyway it counts as the same thing on Amazon. You will have to address the violation.

The long and the short is that you have added an item to your inventory that you were not authorised to sell. You admit you wasn’t even intending on supplying it.

Adding it to your inventory means that you have the product and intend to stock it otherwise it wouldn’t be there.

You need to address the notice and confirm that you do not intend to sell the offending items or item and they were added to your inventory in error.

Since you haven’t sold anything then I wouldn’t have thought Amazon would take much more action on it.

The message is directional, you have addressed it so you shouldn’t incur additional violations as long as you have stripped them out and avoid further violations.

Your selling account may be deactivated is a warning to give you the opportunity to put a stop to it. Take note

At least you have the benefit of knowing what has gone wrong, you can easily address it and just wait it out to disappear from your account.

Hello @SupplyGap,

This is Wade from Amazon here to assist.

I understand your concern regarding your listing being taken down due to the Intellectual property violation.

As per your given information assuming that the ASIN was deactivated for either suspected intellectual property violation or you received a complaint from rights owner for infringing their intellectual property.

If the ASIN is flagged for suspected intellectual property violation, we suggest you to address the policy violation and submit appeal from your account health dashboard.

You can refer to the help page for troubleshooting steps for listings suppressed due to suspected Intellectual Property violations.

If the ASIN is flagged for Intellectual property complaint from a rights owner and is being flagged on your policy compliance, we would request you to refer the Intellectual Property Policy for Sellers.

In this situation you may be asked to submit a Letter of Authorisation (LOA) or Licensing Agreement (LA) from the relevant brand owner to use their registered trademark. This page will help you understand what we expect to see on the Letter of Authorisation that you provide.

Thank you for your post. I hope my response is beneficial towards your business.

If you need any further assistance, you can post here so that we or any of the sellers on forum can help you.

Regards,
Wade.

Thanks for your reply, everyone; I will try my best to avoid making any silly mistakes again.

Any helpful advice you could give to avoid suspected/received IP complaints would be much appreciated.

I can recognise PL listings, but I never knew you could get a policy violation (Suspected IP by just adding the product to your inventory).
