Price marked items
Hi. Can anyone advise on Price marked items from Wholesale stores - Do you have to sell at the marked price?
Thanks

I was looking at a competitor of mine’s feedback and I noticed they had a negative for a price marked item of £2 being sold for more than £2.
It will cause some grief with some buyers who will not be happy at being charged more than the price on the item.
Also if the goods are being sold on other websites at the price marked price you may also end up with Amazon imposing a competitive price.
You also need to be a little careful with price marked items. Some manufacturers use a different barcode for them to the normal non price marked variant. Strictly speaking you should be listing with the barcode on the item which maybe different to the barcode on Amazon.

No, generally speaking you can sell any item at any price you want. Though Amazon may deactivate your listing if they deem the price to be too low or too high.

Thanks. I had a look at a few items and there was no profit at the price marked price.
I wondered if I increased the price so as to make a small profit - would it likely cause customers to complain and risk bad reviews/feedback?
Cheers

I assume from your name that it is books you are talking about.
Virtually every book I sell is at a price higher than the cover price. There is no other way to make a realistic profit. It would be otherwise very difficult to sell a 1960’s paperback with a cover price of 3/6 or a 1970s book price at £1.
Unfortunately there are always a few buyers who complain. Although why Amazon allow these complaints (feedback) to stand is completely beyond me

Just buy some price stickers big enough to cover the original and write your own price in
