UK VAT question

Hello, As many experienced sellers are on this forum and i would like some information on UK VAT. I want to know when you register for VAT and give your VAT number to Amazon then Amazon collects VAT on your behalf from customers and pay to HMRC directly or does Amazon pay us VAT amount was charged on sale and we have to declare it to HMRC in VAT filling. Any help would be appreciated.
