Read onlyHello,
I’m reaching out to the community for advice and to share a pressing issue we’ve encountered with an Amazon FBA shipment that has significantly impacted our business operations.
Issue Summary:
Our shipment, which was intended for the WRO5 logistics center in Okmiany, Poland, was erroneously sent to the ERF1 warehouse in Erfurt, Germany. Our Amazon account settings explicitly prohibit shipments to German warehouses due to our lack of VAT registration in that country. This error has not only placed us in a difficult legal and tax position but has also caused substantial disruptions in our sales.
Background:
Due to this error, our products were exposed to significant VAT registration requirements and other tax implications. The financial repercussions are severe, as the delay in rectifying this shipment error has led to lost sales and market reputation damages.
Response from Amazon:
We received confirmation that this was due to an Amazon error. However, the proposed solution—standard processing of the shipment—does not address the urgency or the financial losses incurred. We are seeking immediate financial compensation and priority in resolving this issue, alongside a request to change our designated logistics center to prevent future occurrences.
Seeking Advice:
Has anyone experienced similar issues with misdirected shipments due to Amazon’s error?
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions. It’s crucial for us to resolve this promptly to mitigate further losses and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
