Integrating Couriers

I’m told that even if I integrate a courier (Royal Mail, Hermes…) with Amazon MWS, I stillhave to manually type the customers name and address into the courier;s website. That seems strange. (Ebay is seamless) Does anyone have experience of this?

Nope. Not for RM Click&Drop anyway. You have to enter product details (weight, dimensions etc.) so that it comes up with the correct postage but you only do that once either manually or by uploading a spreadsheet. It’ll also mark your orders as dispatched on Amazon once you’ve paid for postage.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I am selling one product only and as you say I enter the product details only once.

I don’t see the benefit of integrating with Amazon, if it cannot pull the name and address automatically. If I still have to enter this manually each time what is the point?
(Also the Royal Mail video on integrating Amazon ‘says’ it pulls the info across, though I haven’t found that to be the case)

BTP_Andy,
I think I mis-read your reply. Are you saying that you DO NOT have to enter the customer’s name and address manually?
Ie C&D automatically picks it up and populates the fields?

No that’s not correct you can import in to Hermes and RM systems or anyone that has a system that can connect via the Amazon MWS Developer Permissions. I use Hermes, RM, DPD and also Parcel2Go all can link to my account and pull all the delivery details email and tel etc.
