Shipment discrepancies....AGAIN. What can I do?

Hi all,

I’m fairly new to FBA (around 6 months in), and twice I’ve had shipment discrepancies. This first happened a few weeks ago when I sent 2 separate SKUs in one box, one of them being a fairly expensive (£200) thermostat heating kit, which they said they never received. I’m 99.99% sure it was was in the box, however I just kept getting the reply of ‘we always get someone else to count when there is a discrepancy’, which is clearly utter BS.

Last week I sent in three barcode scanners in one fairly large box. Each scanner is in their own box with dimensions of roughly 25x25x25cm, and yet they’re saying that they’ve only received ONE of them which is an utter lie and complete disgrace. So now I’m down almost £400 as the scanners are £90 each… what can I do? I cannot afford to just write off £400, I just can’t believe their sheer incompetence and inability to count items inside a box.

Many thanks,
J

You open a reconcile where they will ask you for invoices and the POD.
If you keep getting the same kind of errors, it’s indicative that you are probably doing something wrong.
ie, are they being labelled correctly.

No labelling required as it has the manufacturers barcode. I’ve send over 200 items in to amazon, and on both times they say there’s a discrepancy is when they’ve been sent into BHX4 AND are high value items. I sent 3 identical boxes with measurements of 26x21x17, and the box they were in was 23x46x35. I just do not understand how they can do this

What I would suggest for future reference is to take video footage or photographs before dispatching the order. We have had an issue some time ago where a customer alleged they received short delivery we provided them with photograph of the order how it was packed and never heard any more.

We all have the technology on our mobile phones so don’t need to purchase any additional gadgets. All the information can be stored on cloud and accessed 24 hours a day.

This drives me mad when I am not allowed to reconcile. Often it is obvious that they are incorrect. A while ago I sent included in a shipment 4 cases of 24 units. They said I had sent 97 units and they had double counted it.

I only bought 96 and there is no way an extra unit could be squeezed into the box.

They also said I had short delivered an number of items. So I lost a few quid there.

It is just theft.

STOP using FBA and use a fulfilment centre instead.
I use these guys, https://www.ecommercefulfilment.com
I moved from FBA 2 years ago now and have never looked back. EU & USA also available.

We have the same issue as well. It was very rare before and they usually reimburse us, but now we have multiple shipments with discrepancies and no option to reconcile.

One of the shipments has 16 out 18 units missing (about £500 of stock) and we know 100% everything was there. They don’t even ask for invoices, just send the same reply, saying they counted twice.

We’ve sent hundreds of shipments over the years and only few times made an error of packing more units than should be, never less. To Amazon that doesn’t count for anything obviously.

To be fair, this issue does seem to be getting significantly worse over recent months.

Over the years I’ve seen the odd discrepancy of one or two units per batch (typically less than 0.5%) and usually ignored it. In recent months I’ve had silly thing like half the number of items sent received or boxes go completely missing. In my experience it seems connected to shipments starting to go to LBA4, which I understand is new. I presume the well-known logistics / staffing issues happening in the UK at the moment isn’t helping either.

Either way, as I sit here waiting to raise a claim for a box sent with 175 units in, which had only 84 received, and another that was delivered a week ago which still hasn’t made its way into available stock, things have definitely deteriorated in my experience.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, I had some products marked as HAZMAT when they should not have been, something to do with an ASIN creation in Japan for a laptop which got crossed over. I managed to get rid of the status but I lost about 50 units sending in for FBA, they just disappeared. No comments from Amazon they must just have destroyed them but they don’t inform you of this.
